Tire Rack’s employee-led sustainability initiative repurposes used K-Cups into seedling planters, reducing waste and carbon emissions. Each reused cup saves about 20–45 grams of CO₂e, and over the past three months, 1,200–1,400 cups have been collected—equivalent to charging a phone 12,000–30,000 times. If the effort continues, it could prevent up to 252 kg of CO₂e annually.
Tire Rack has launched a paper reuse initiative led by sustainability advocate Larry Shead. The program encourages employees to reuse single-sided, non-confidential printer paper—an often wasted resource. By repurposing these pages, the initiative aims to reduce unnecessary paper waste and promote everyday sustainability. Employees who frequently print are invited to request reusable sheets to support the effort.
